Do you store any of my information?

No. Your loyalty card images are stored in a private, high-performance database within your browser (IndexedDB). This data is NEVER uploaded to our servers or sent over the internet. Only you can access it from the device you used to upload it. We do not store, access, or track any of your data. There are no accounts, logins, or databases.

Is it safe to use?

Yes. Because your data never leaves your device, it's as safe as any other data you store on your phone. We also implement modern security headers (like Content-Security-Policy) to protect the app from web-based attacks.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Clearing your browser's "site data" or "cookies and site data" for Only One will permanently delete all the cards you have stored. This action cannot be undone, as we do not keep any backups on our servers.

How can I back up my cards?

Pro Tip: Since we don't store your data, there's no automatic backup. However, you can easily create your own backup on your phone.

  • Create a dedicated photo album on your device (e.g., name it "Loyalty Card Backups").
  • Each time you add a card to the Only One app, save a copy of the barcode image to that album.

This way, if you ever clear your browser data or switch to a new phone, you'll have all the images ready to be re-added to the app in seconds.

How do I add a card?

Tap the blue '+' button. You can either select a popular brand from the list or tap "Add a Custom Card" for any other card that has a barcode or QR code.

Is there a limit to how many cards I can add?

There is no set limit. The app uses your browser's available storage, which is typically very generous (often several gigabytes). Because the new database stores images efficiently, you can add a very large number of cards without any issue.

How can I keep image file sizes small?

Pro Tip: For the clearest image and smallest file size, take a screenshot of the barcode from your official loyalty app instead of taking a physical photo of the card. This will allow you to store many more cards.

My card won't scan in the store. What can I do?

This can sometimes happen with certain types of scanners. Try these tips:

  • Increase the brightness of your phone screen to maximum.
  • Make sure the barcode or QR code image you uploaded is clear, in focus, and not blurry.
  • Avoid any glare from overhead lights on your phone screen.
  • If it still doesn't work, you may need to re-upload a clearer photo of your card.

Can I use this app offline?

Yes! Once you've added your cards, the app works completely offline. The service worker ensures that the app loads and your cards are available even if you don't have an internet connection.

Why does the app sometimes look broken offline, and how can I prevent it?

Your loyalty card images are always stored safely on your device and are not affected by this.

Occasionally, your phone's operating system (especially iOS) may perform an automatic cleanup to save space. This can sometimes remove the app's cached interface files, like icons and styles.

Pro Tip for a Guaranteed Offline Experience:

Before you know you'll need the app offline (like before heading out to the shops), just open it for a second while you're still connected to the internet (e.g., on your home Wi-Fi or mobile data).

This gives the app a chance to quickly refresh its files, ensuring it will look and work perfectly when you're offline later.

Can I use this on multiple devices?

Yes, but you’ll need to save the barcode or QR code image separately on each one. The app does not sync between devices because we don't store your data on any central server.
